A recent article by Robb Report included our 2023 Cabernet Franc Magdalena Vineyard as one of ‘7 Outstanding American Cabernet Francs to Drink Right Now’.
The piece traces the grape from its home in France to the many places it grows today, including right here in the Finger Lakes. “Although Cabernet Franc is originally from France, it now has a permanent home and is firmly rooted in North America.”
This particular Cabernet Franc comes from our Magdalena Vineyard, a 2.5-acre vineyard on the western slope of Seneca Lake. Robb Report notes “amazing aromatics of black raspberry, dark cherry, and a whiff of green pepper. It has balanced acidity and great heft on the palate with flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and dried cranberry.”
