Wine & Spirits Magazine Reviews our Wines

Apr 20, 2020 | News & Noteworthy

Wine & Spirits Magazine tasted and reviewed several Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard Rieslings for their upcoming June 2020 issue. This issue features a list of “100 Best for $20 or Less” with the Dry Riesling from Wiemer earning a spot on this list with 93 points and a “Best Buy” endorsement. Other highlights include 93 points for both the HJW Bio Riesling from 2016, as well as the Riesling Magdalena Vineyard 2018. The 2018 Reserve Dry Riesling received 92 points.

“…this (wine) feels rich at first. Then it gathers itself with brisk, sneaky acids, the wine’s caramel-apple flavor reading as tart and nutty at once, ” writes Wine Editor Patrick Comiskey regarding the 2018 Magdalena Vineyard Riesling. He also notes that Dry Riesling 2018 has “…exquisite balance, satisfying and elegant.”
