Julia Field Study

New Releases from our Julia Vineyard

As with most things in the world of wine, our winery and viticulture both evolve with each passing year. Founded on the premise of growing Riesling in the cool climate Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, over the last 45 years Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard has regularly incorporated new varietals into our production. Gewürztraminer and Cabernet Franc were early additions while Grüner Veltliner and Blaufränkisch have become staples of the winery and the region over the last few decades. More recently another viticultural story has been growing at our Julia Vineyard. Positioned just 10 miles north of the winery on Seneca Lake, this experimental site is home to the next wave of cool climate varietals and the origin of our two new Field Study wines. We are so excited to share those efforts, and that story with you.
