Winter “Wonder”land Week: Getting Geeky with Grafting

The Hermann J. Wiemer Vine Nursery has always played an important role in our story. We graft grapevines for vineyards across the country and Canada, it’s an intricate part of our identity and something you ask about year-round. The real magic happens now, in the coldest months, as we lay the foundation for growers who order vines from us. Watch our talented team create new vines from rootstock and budwood, following the journey of a favorite varietal: Blaufränkisch. From cuts of vine to wine in your glass, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for where the grapes truly originate.
