Gewurztraminer Josef Vineyard

This wine is sourced entirely from one of the oldest vinifera plantings in the Finger Lake region- Gewürztraminer from our Josef Vineyard planted in 1967. Those vines have always served as the complex and refined backbone to our regular bottling, but it is truly special when they are showcased on their own (the last time that we kept them separated was for the 2005 Reserve Gewürztraminer). When working with old vines- there is a sense of restraint and elegance that tends to shine through, where young vines with their vigor can almost give too much! This is a late harvest style, with around 4.5% of RS- it is powerful and graceful and will have tremendous aging potential.
