We have been growing Blaufränkisch (aka Lemberger) since 1999 when we planted a tiny experimental plot in our Magdalena vineyard. Over the years, we have added acreage to this planting and honed our style of still red wine. Experimentation continues to be important to us, which led to this limited bottling. With red fruit on the aroma and a gorgeous minerality and savory component on the palate, this wine can take you from aperitif to an accompaniment for a fresh summer dinner! Making a small trial of Rosé using Blaufränkisch allows us to explore other varieties and their possibility for making a delicious wine with a perhaps more consistent variety. We were so impressed with the flavor and quality that we decided to bottle this wine and share it with you!
