DESCRIPTION:Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard invites wine industry and agriculture professionals to attend a tour of our Demeter-certified Biodynamic farm. Join our vineyard management team for an in-depth look at how this farming process can be applied to a vineyard and its surrounding land\, from the soil and floor up to the canopy. We will discuss the conversion process\, animal integration and farm retrofitting\, equipment\, sprays\, biodiversity and wildlife interaction\, and the changes one might see as a vineyard evolves from conventional to organic to Biodynamic farming. Tour participants will gain an understanding of biodynamic farming from the philosophical to the practical.

At the end of your farm tour\, you will enjoy a glass of wine and be able to ask any additional questions you might have! \n*This tour stretches over a distance of the farm\n*Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear appropriate footwear\n*Tours are rain or shine\n*We will be in contact with the sheep on the farm – if this is a concern\, please let your tour guide know and they will ensure you are able to keep your distance\n*Please leave your pups at home out of respect for our livestock\n*We recommend bringing water with you to drink while you are walking \nTickets are $30 per person and $20 per Kabinett member. While that may be a bit of an exaggeration\, it’s all the more reason we’re excited to celebrate the Summer Solstice\, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. \nWalk-Around Mini Barrel Tasting 5pm-7pm \nIt’s been a while since we hosted what was once our annual Barrel Tasting\, and we thought the Summer Solstice would be the perfect occasion to revive the spirit of that event\, this time we will gather on our Press Pad to taste and enjoy. \nThe theme of the afternoon centers on Biodynamics and our home vineyard site\, HJW. You’ll have the chance to explore several stations\, including barrel and tank samples of upcoming Demeter-certified wines\, a look at our potted grapevines—our own Chardonnay and Riesling clones from the HJW Vineyard and a station on how to bring Biodynamic practices into your own garden\, featuring horsetail tea. Naturally\, there will also be opportunities to taste current releases along with sneak peeks of wines in our Bio and Demeter-certified lineup. \n🍷Join us for the Barrel Tasting – ticket includes: Barrel Tasting at 5pm \nWe’ll also be running Farm Tours at 4pm and 6pm that you can join with this ticket! \nTickets are $75pp or $50 for Kabinett Members
