Since Magdalena burst on the scene with her debut vintage in 2002\, she has challenged our Estate’s viewpoint on Finger Lakes terroir. Her bold\, powerful fruit profile was a standout in every blend\, leading us to establish her as a single-vineyard site quite early on in her career. Like a singer whose voice matures with age\, so has the Magdalena Vineyard\, showing restraint and complexity with every passing vintage. We excitedly wait for the arrival of Farmer Justin\, who brings the sheep to graze on our Biodynamic certified vineyard for the season. The sheep play an important role in both viticulture here at Hermann J. Wiemer and in our biodiversity. Join us for our first Farm Tour of 2025 as we “Release the Sheep!” – a truly wonderful way to kick off our agricultural season. \n*…and\, if you’re around for the weekend\, join us the following day for Baaabbles 101 (Open Doors: Sparkling 101) where we’ll raise a glass of Extra Brut\, made from Riesling grown in the very vineyards the sheep graze\, while you learn all about sparkling wine!* \nTickets are $30 per person and $20 per Kabinett member.
