SUMMARY:Open Doors: Farm Tour
DESCRIPTION:Visit us at Hermann J. Wiemer and enjoy a guided tour of our iconic HJW Vineyard. Over an exploration of our estate you’ll be joined by a member of our Vineyard team in a discussion of our Biodynamic farming practices. You will learn how we utilize cover crops\, animals (get ready for a photo-op with our sheep!)\, phenology\, homemade teas and biodiversity across the estate – and how all of that impacts the winemaking and final character of our wines. \nAfter the tour you’ll taste a small selection of wines to help connect what you’ve seen in the vineyard to what’s in your glass. If you’d like to do a more expansive tasting\, we highly recommend making a separate reservation for a seated\, educational tasting at 1:30pm to finish before the tour begins. \nPlease note:\n*The is a medium length walking tour over dirt roads\, into the vineyard and on non-level terrain.\n*Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.\n*The tour may bring you in close proximity with the sheep on our farm – if this is at all a concern\, please let your tour guide know and they will ensure you’re able to keep your distance.\n*Please leave your own animals at home out of respect for our livestock.\n*There is no break area or restroom while out in the vineyard so please make sure all your needs are met before the tour begins.
